Jumping into our 10-part special now?  Why not take a look at the earlier blogs in our great series on how Tyent water ionizers compare to other types of home water machines and products? We give you the facts then it’s up to you to decide for yourself who wins!

Aristotle was philosophical about the distillation process.

Distilled Information

Today, we’re looking at how water ionizers stack up against distillers, kicking off with how distilled water is produced.  It’s a process with a long and ancient history; Aristotle, the great philosopher and tutor of Alexander the Great, wrote about the steaming of seawater for the purpose of drinking.

A low to mid-priced option, the modern day distillation process commonly takes …

Have you read Part One of our special 10-part series looking at how a Tyent Water Ionizer compares to the competition?

Do your taps need a little help?
Do your taps need a little help?

Well, without further ado, we couldn’t wait to bring you the second part of the series, taking a closer look at how Tyent Ionizers compare with water filters that fit directly onto your tap.

Are Faucet Filters Any Good?

Faucet-mounted filters come in various designs, with differing filtration capabilities and construction.  These range from mechanical to carbon-types, and others besides.  Some filter out just one or two contaminants, while others remove more of the bad stuff from your water, but how thoroughly they do so varies tremendously.

Even if the faucet mounted …

We can’t promise the thrills, spills and general roller coaster ride that was the race for the White House; but we can promise facts, figures and everything else you need to know about how Tyent Water Ionizers measure up against the competition!

The gloves are off.  Water Ionizer vs. Water Softener.
The gloves are off.  Water Ionizer vs. Water Softener.

We’re covering so much in our new 10-part series that you’ll need to keep checking back so that you don’t miss a thing!

First up – Water Ionizers vs. Water Softeners.  Let’s go! *rings bell.*

Why “Soften” Water?

Why do people want to soften their water?  Well, hard water can contain excess levels of calcium, magnesium, and sulfates.  The water softener removes the excess minerals to give you “soft” …

Behind “Safe” Bottled Water

Posted by: Rhona Reid On November 10, 2016 12:00 pm

Back in 2008, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that 10 top brands of bottled water contained contaminants such as disinfectant by-products, pain medication and fertilizer residue.

Toxic Waste Near Water

Even if the beverage industry has cleaned up its act since then, there’s still the worry that plastic leaches controversial carcinogen Bisphenal A (BPA) into the bottled water.  No one is certain about the long-term effects of imbibing the estrogen-mimicking chemical, so wobbly reassurances along the lines of “it seems to be alright so far…” is pretty much the best we have.

Portable Problems?

So how about using “safe” reusable plastic bottles instead?  When Treadmill reviews commissioned environmental testing laboratory services company EmPak P&K to test 12 different types of portable plastic water …

What Does a Water Ionizer Really Do?

Posted by: Rhona Reid On October 27, 2016 12:00 pm

We rightly focus a great deal on what ionized alkaline water does for you, but less so on the actual ionizer itself.  We know that an ionizer produces alkaline water, but how does it do that?  What goes on inside the machine that produces such amazing results?  Let’s find out!

Don’t expect these plates to ionize your water.

Free Water Report!

The first thing to remember is that an ionizer works with your existing water supply.  Step one, when you decide to purchase an ionizer, is to obtain one of our free water reports.  Once you’ve decided whether to opt for an under-counter or counter top model, the ionizer is plumbed into your water supply.

Will My Water Ionizer Work with Reverse Osmosis?

Posted by: Rhona Reid On October 25, 2016 7:00 am

We’ve written about Reverse Osmosis (RO) water here before, and truth be told, it hasn’t always been in exactly glowing terms.  In short, RO water is entirely free of vital minerals, so while it’s great in an emergency, drinking it frequently, over any significant period of time, can actually cause harm.

Reverse Osmosis water can be safe if used with an ionizer.

Bringing Dead Water Back to Life?

But here’s an interesting thing.  Reverse Osmosis water can be revived from it’s somewhat “dead” state by flowing through an ionizer. RO water is clean, but devoid of goodness.  Running clean Reverse Osmosis water through your ionizer  will re-mineralize and stabilize the water, making it safe and good to drink, …

Is Buying a Water Ionizer Really Worth It?

Posted by: Rhona Reid On October 18, 2016 7:00 am

There’s a whole lot of information out there about water ionizers and the incredible benefits that millions of people have enjoyed for years.  The medical establishment has weighed in time and time again with endorsements, and scientists are racing to make the next breakthrough when it comes to how ionized alkaline water can positively affect health.

Undecided?  We’ll try to help with that.
Undecided?  We’ll try to help with that.

But let’s be cynical for a moment.  Sure, all of that is true.  But still, is that reason enough to actually go ahead and buy an ionizer?  In other words, is buying a water ionizer really worth it?

What Are the Alternatives?

Well, first of all, let’s think about the alternatives.  America’s water supply and pipeline …

There are some people in the world (hi mom!) who will always insist that “the book is better than the film.”  They will maintain this position even when the film in question is weighed down with critical acclaim, Oscars and large swathes of the population hailing it a masterpiece.

I’d like to thank my producer, my beloved fans, and my Tyent ionizer.

What this point of view touches upon is the belief that we absorb more information by reading it, rather than watching it.  While this might be true in some mediums; sometimes, we just want to watch stuff. When that “stuff” is actually genuinely informative and highly entertaining, it’s hard to argue that it’s not time very well …

What Is a Water Ionizer System? Explained!

Posted by: Rhona Reid On October 6, 2016 12:00 pm

It’s possible that although you know about ionized water and the benefits of drinking it, the finer details of how alkaline water is actually produced by that sleek and shiny appliance might be less clear.

Nope.  I'm still not sure which bit the water comes out of.
Nope.  I’m still not sure which bit the water comes out of.

With that in mind, we thought we’d take a look at exactly what an ionizer is, and what goes on inside it!

How Does it Work?

An ionizer can be fitted above counter level, or tucked away out of sight below your counter; it’s really a matter of personal preference.  It is plumbed into your existing pipework although it almost always has it’s own control panel to actually draw the water.  …
