Posted by: Rhona Reid On June 14, 2016 9:00 am

British newspaper The Guardian has concluded a damning investigation into how some cities in America apparently attempt to conceal how much lead really is in the water, by employing “cheats” when testing.

“Who amongst us is safe?”  Marc Edwards,  Flint Whistleblower.
“Who amongst us is safe?”  Marc Edwards,  Flint Whistleblower.

The investigation revealed that 33 cities across 17 states have used methods of testing water that possibly conceal dangerous levels of lead.

“They make lead in water low when collecting samples for EPA compliance, even as it poisons kids who drink the water.  Clearly, the cheating and lax enforcement are needlessly harming children all over the United States.”

If you live within striking distance of Flint, Michigan, then you may have noticed the paparazzi descending and a red carpet being unrolled on May 21st.  Although the news crews of America may have packed up most of their equipment following months of reporting from Flint, the press pack is still hanging around.

Brad Pitt in town?  Not quite, but the celeb count was pretty high. If you were, ahem…on the ball…you might have grabbed some tickets to Snoop Dogg’s “Hoop 4 Water,” a celebrity basketball game to raise funds for the beleaguered residents of the town with lead in it’s drinking water.

Why Alkaline Water Beats Bottled Water Hands Down!

Posted by: Rhona Reid On May 3, 2016 9:00 am

In data recently released by the Beverage Marketing Corporation, it was apparent that one area of growth exceeded it’s projected performance.  Sales of bottled water are over and above the industry forecast, and it begs the question why that might be.

Millions of these end up in landfill every year.

Damage Limitation?

A desire to be a bit healthier?  Certainly water is a better option than soda.  An inevitable reaction to the frightening stories about exactly what the water that comes out of your taps might contain?  After Flint came Bruni, and if recent reports are to be believed, there’s more trouble brewing in the pipelines of America.

From the California drought to chemical spills in West Virginia and the algae blooms in Ohio, water is definitely in the news.

Today, it’s in New Jersey, where the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) announced last week (August 12th) that the capping of the two landfills in the townships of Cinnaminson and Duran, New Jersey, didn’t require any more action to be taken as the current measures have proven to be effective.  The sites drew national attention when the federal government
