We all know that there are serious problems with America’s water pipelines and infrastructure from coast to coast, so well water must be a better option, right?

Involuntary Manslaughter Charges Brought in Flint

It’s been quite the week in Flint.  Dressed in custom-made gowns and bright, sharp suits, excited seniors of Flint Northwestern High School rode charter buses into Detroit for their prom.  At almost the same time, the news began to emerge that Nick Lyon, Michigan’s health chief, was to be charged with involuntary manslaughter, along with four other officials.

Failure to tell residents in Flint that the water flowing into their homes was contaminated with legionella is one of the accusations the defendant’s face.  Twelve people died as a result, and 100 people in total contracted the disease.  Officials knew for months about the outbreak, but kept silent.

Ditch the Soda – Water Ionizers are Naturally Good for You!

It hasn’t been a great couple of months to be in the soda industry.  On 20th April this year a report was published by the America Stroke Association that appeared to draw a link between the consumption of artificially sweetened “diet” soda and the risk of suffering a stroke or dementia.  A further report from Beverage Marketing Corps pointed to the fact that Americans now officially drink more bottled water than soda.

My grandmother, like so many of her generation, was big on preserves and finding ways of storing any surplus for leaner times.  Part of the preserving process included canning, which meant that her pantry shelves were lined with dozens of bottles and jars containing everything from beans and artichokes, to jams and chicken.

Why buy a water ionizer?  I mean, you can live without one, right?  Sure you can.  But then, you can live without fresh food and exercise, but we wouldn’t recommend it!

The thing is, hydration isn’t optional.  Every single one of us needs to drink water, every day.  Not just one glass, but just under two liters every day for most of us, according to the Institute of Medicine.  We also need more water before and after exercise and in hot weather.

Heaven Help St. Joseph? Another Day, Another Water Crisis

Take a look at our first picture.  Would you drink water that looked like this?  Bathe in it?  Give it to your children?  The people of St. Joseph, Louisiana have no choice.  That’s the water that has flowed from their taps for years now.  Incredibly, up until recently, it was declared safe.   Despite the 1,100 residents of this small, relatively impoverished town complaining for almost a decade about the state of the water that leaves clothes and towels streaked with rust-colored stains, officials insisted that it was safe to drink.
