Creating an Alkaline Body

Normal human metabolism produces more acid waste products than alkalizing substances, so the body must continually adjust pH to compensate for this. Additionally, the typical Western Diet, often referred to as the “SAD” diet or the Standard American Diet, which is often comprised of refined, inflammatory foods, can create an acidic body. This has many health implications in the long term. These foods, such as sugar, white flour, white rice, breakfast cereals, bagels, cakes, pasta, flavored yogurt, white bread, potato chips, sodas and sports drinks. Other lifestyle choices as well can have an acidic impact such as alcohol use, stress, medications, polluted environments, toxins, excess alcohol, and smoking.

How Do You Know If You’re Acidic?

If you are finding it difficult to lose weight, you have dental problems, insomnia, or fatigue during the day, brittle nails, and hair, you have skin issues. This chronic acidity from our diet and more can potentially lead to various health conditions, including kidney stones, muscle loss and quality, reduced bone density, and even arthritis, diabetes, and cancer.

We must maintain a healthy pH of 7.0 or above. Anything below that number is considered acidic. You can check your alkaline level with urine strips.

An important component to help optimize health is to reduce this acidic environment in the body with alkalizing minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Additionally, choosing more alkaline foods,  Tyent alkaline water, stress reduction, removing known toxins, drinking less alcohol, and quitting smoking.

Alkalizing Foods to Eat Abundantly

  • All veggies
  • All fruits such as melon, apple, berries, grapes, lemon or lime. Some are slightly acidic, like blueberries, cranberries, and plums.
  • Leafy greens like spinach or arugula, cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale
  • Pumpkin, sweet potatoes, beets
  • Mushrooms, sprouts, legumes
  • Nuts & Seeds, almonds, chia, sesame
  • Onions, garlic, leek and herbs/spices like parsley, ginger
  • Wheat and barley grass, algae like spirulina and chlorella
  • Grains like amaranth, millet and quinoa
  • Fresh beans, green peas, lima beans

How to Alkalize

  • Drink Tyent alkaline water, which is full of therapeutic levels of molecular hydrogen.
  • Eliminate processed foods and junk foods. These foods such as sugar and white flour strip precious minerals such as calcium and magnesium that help to alkalize.
  • Eat a healthy diet. What you eat has a powerful impact upon your overall health. It is truly the foundation. If you choose acidic foods the majority of the time, your body will then be left vulnerable to less-than-optimal health.

Other Ways to Alkalize

  • Meditate
  • Deep Breathing
  • Eat Slowly and Chew Food Thoroughly
  • Exercise such as Walking or Resistance Training
  • Get Some Sun
  • Use Baking Soda

Benefits of an Alkaline Diet and Lifestyle

  • Improvement in Candida Overgrowth
  • Increased Energy
  • Less Muscle Loss
  • Better Bone Health
  • Improved Heart Health
  • Healthier Nails
  • Healthier Skin

Small, healthy choices have a powerful impact upon optimal health. Choosing alkaline foods and water will help you get there.
